{"id":740,"date":"2011-01-31T23:24:27","date_gmt":"2011-01-31T23:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/barreiroweb.eu\/?p=740"},"modified":"2011-01-31T23:25:19","modified_gmt":"2011-01-31T23:25:19","slug":"740","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/?p=740","title":{"rendered":"Linha do Sado, Faz hoje 150 Anos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/barreiroweb.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/esta\u00e7\u00e3o-ferroviaro-do-barreiro-1859.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[740]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-741\" title=\"esta\u00e7\u00e3o ferroviaro do barreiro 1859\" src=\"http:\/\/barreiroweb.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/esta\u00e7\u00e3o-ferroviaro-do-barreiro-1859-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/esta\u00e7\u00e3o-ferroviaro-do-barreiro-1859-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/esta\u00e7\u00e3o-ferroviaro-do-barreiro-1859-50x50.jpg 50w, https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/esta\u00e7\u00e3o-ferroviaro-do-barreiro-1859-70x70.jpg 70w, https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/esta\u00e7\u00e3o-ferroviaro-do-barreiro-1859-55x55.jpg 55w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Por carta da lei de 7 de Agosto de 1854, aprovando um contracto feito pelo governo em 24 de Julho desse mesmo ano, foi determinada a constru\u00e7\u00e3o duma linha f\u00e9rrea, ao sul do Tejo, partindo de Aldeia galega a Vendas Novas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Em resultado, por\u00e9m, de dificuldades que surgiram, e especialmente por influ\u00eancia do ministro que por tanto tempo patrocinou o Barreiro, apareceu, em 26 desse mesmo m\u00eas e ano, outro decreto aprovando um contracto adicional, no qual se determinava que a esta\u00e7\u00e3o \u201cterminus\u201d desta linha fosse no Barreiro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Assim sucedeu, e no dia 1 de Fevereiro de 1861, foi este caminho aberto ao publico, tendo apenas 69 kilometros em explora\u00e7\u00e3o, 56 na linha principal e 13 no ramal de Set\u00fabal, havendo a companhia construtora chamada \u201cbrazileira\u201d, recebido do governo, a t\u00edtulo de subven\u00e7\u00e3o, a import\u00e2ncia de 551:893$676 r\u00e9is, al\u00e9m de madeiras no valor de 359:480$454 r\u00e9is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/barreiroweb.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/2_1861.gif\" rel=\"lightbox[740]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-743\" title=\"2_1861\" src=\"http:\/\/barreiroweb.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/2_1861-150x147.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"147\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/2_1861-150x147.gif 150w, https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/2_1861-50x50.gif 50w, https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/2_1861-70x70.gif 70w, https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/2_1861-55x55.gif 55w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>A primitiva esta\u00e7\u00e3o principal deste caminho foi constru\u00edda a cerca de \u2019um kilometro ao sul da vila, e ainda se conserva; \u00e9 um majestoso edif\u00edcio que mede 68 metros de largura por 95 de fundo, incluindo o grande terra\u00e7o que lhe fica na frente e para o qual se sobe por duas amplas escadas laterais de cantaria; este edif\u00edcio ocupa uma \u00e1rea de 6.460 metros quadrados, tendo s\u00f3 a gare 32 metros de largo por 67 de comprido.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O local escolhido para a sua edifica\u00e7\u00e3o foi p\u00e9ssimo; primeiramente, os passageiros que de Lisboa se dirigiam para este caminho, desembarcavam na ponta do Mexilhoeiro e tinham de percorrer a p\u00e9 um extenso areal de cerca de dois kilometros, antes de chegarem ao local onde deviam meter-se no comboio; mais tarde come\u00e7ou o vapor a ir lan\u00e7ar os passageiros mesmo defronte da esta\u00e7\u00e3o, mas ainda assim o incomodo n\u00e3o era menor, pois que passavam do vapor para pequenos barcos que os vinham lan\u00e7ar em terra, tendo ainda de percorrer, a p\u00e9, uma certa distancia at\u00e9 \u00e1 esta\u00e7\u00e3o.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/barreiroweb.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/img535.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[740]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-742\" title=\"EPSON scanner image\" src=\"http:\/\/barreiroweb.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/img535-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/img535-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/img535-50x50.jpg 50w, https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/img535-70x70.jpg 70w, https:\/\/arquivo.barreiroweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/img535-55x55.jpg 55w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Ulteriormente procuraram remover estes inconvenientes construindo uma extensa ponte de madeira, com trezentos e quarenta metros de comprido, que unia o cais com o ponto onde o vapor podia chegar, a qual foi demolida quando se terminou o grande aterro ultimamente constru\u00eddo, em cuja extremidade se edificou a nova esta\u00e7\u00e3o<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desta ponte, desaparecida j\u00e1 h\u00e1 uns bons seis anos, ainda hoje n\u00f3s, os barreirenses, possu\u00edmos uma onerosa recorda\u00e7\u00e3o \u2013 o celebre imposto de 40 r\u00e9is (que ainda hoje se paga) lan\u00e7ado sobre o pre\u00e7o de cada bilhete vendido no Barreiro ou para o Barreiro, com o fim de ocorrer \u00e1s despesas da conserva\u00e7\u00e3o ou mesmo da sua constru\u00e7\u00e3o!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00c9 dif\u00edcil explicar a exist\u00eancia deste imposto, na actualidade depois de cessar a causa que o motivou.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">J.
