O festival inclui a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o da exposi\u00e7\u00e3o fotogr\u00e1fica \u201cBlues (Wo)men\u201d, da autoria de\u00a0Hern\u00e2ni\u00a0Nascimento, a exibi\u00e7\u00e3o do document\u00e1rio \u201cThe Blues \u2013 Feel Like Going Home\u201d, de Martin Scorsese, a palestra \u201cBlues\u201d, com R\u00faben de Carvalho, e a atua\u00e7\u00e3o das bandas The Yellow Dog Blues, The Soaked Lamb, Messias and The Hot Tones e Nobody\u2019s Bizness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As origens do Blues remontam ao delta do Mississ\u00edpi e aos cantos religiosos e can\u00e7\u00f5es de trabalho dos escravos, de raiz africana. Nos anos 40, come\u00e7a um per\u00edodo intenso de migra\u00e7\u00e3o para Chicago. A popula\u00e7\u00e3o negra, procurando fugir da repress\u00e3o e das condi\u00e7\u00f5es prec\u00e1rias de vida, procura nas grandes ind\u00fastrias de Chicago um lugar para novas oportunidades. A eletrifica\u00e7\u00e3o do Blues em Chicago deu-lhe a dimens\u00e3o popular e universal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A margem esquerda do Tejo na pen\u00ednsula de Set\u00fabal foi fortemente influenciada por fluxos migrat\u00f3rios a partir de meados do s\u00e9c. XX por popula\u00e7\u00f5es rurais origin\u00e1rias sobretudo do Alentejo, Beiras e Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes. S\u00e3o popula\u00e7\u00f5es que buscam as novas oportunidades surgidas com as grandes ind\u00fastrias Qu\u00edmica, Sider\u00fargica e Naval. As origens do Blues e das popula\u00e7\u00f5es da margem esquerda do Tejo cruzam-se na Baixa da Banheira.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esta iniciativa \u00e9 organizada pelo Centro de Atletismo da Baixa da Banheira.
