E que a ponte sobre a ribeira de Coina, constru\u00edda pelos extintos caminhos de ferro do Estado, est\u00e1 a tornar-se um empecilho para a navega\u00e7\u00e3o ate a Siderurgia Nacional, situada a sul da ponte; e a C. P., de acordo com os princ\u00edpios da economia empresarial, estaria a encarar a explora\u00e7\u00e3o daquele ramal como desnecess\u00e1rio, visto ser deficit\u00e1ria.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/barreiroweb.com\/images\/resistencia\/ponteseixalwh9.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"314\" height=\"199\" align=\"left\" \/>O ramal do Seixal (assim conhecido porque termina naquela vila), foi constru\u00eddo para ter prolongamento ate Cacilhas. Raz\u00f5es t\u00e9cnico-econ\u00f3micas, aparecidas ulteriormente, impediram a continua\u00e7\u00e3o dos trabalhos. Se inicialmente todos os dados da quest\u00e3o fizessem prever que a linha n\u00e3o passaria do Seixal, esta decerto n\u00e3o se faria, nem teria valido a pena construir sobre a ribeira de Coina uma ponte do ferro com um tramo levadi\u00e7o, de explora\u00e7\u00e3o e manuten\u00e7\u00e3o dispendiosas. A implanta\u00e7\u00e3o, da ind\u00fastria Sider\u00fargica a sul da ponte criou-lhe problemas; a navega\u00e7\u00e3o, que tem de passar por entre Os pilares do tramo m\u00f3vel \u00e9 constante, e \u00e1s vezes causa avarias graves aos pilares da ponte e ao pr\u00f3prio tramo, havendo ainda necessidade do utilizar um autocarro, pela C. P., para transporte de passageiros por estrada, num percurso de 15 quil\u00f3metros.<\/p>\n<p>A C. P. t\u00eam procurado defender a exist\u00eancia do ramal do Seixal e ate chegou a propor a Siderurgia a constru\u00e7\u00e3o do uma linha que, inserida no mesmo ramal, na Azinheira, a servisse directamente. Ficava por\u00e9m sem solu\u00e7\u00e3o o caso da navega\u00e7\u00e3o, sempre necess\u00e1ria mesmo depois da serventia por via f\u00e9rrea, dada a exist\u00eancia da ponte.<\/p>\n<p>A Siderurgia tomou sempre a posi\u00e7\u00e3o que mais lhe convinha, recusando a proposta da C. P. Nos \u00faltimos tempos, com a constru\u00e7\u00e3o da ponte sobre o Tejo, o problema passou a ter outros aspectos, que provavelmente conduzir\u00e3o ao desaparecimento do ramal do Seixal, logo que surja a oportunidade. E a oportunidade estar\u00e1 criada quando se construir, de harmonia com o projecto do Gabinete da Ponte Salazar, a liga\u00e7\u00e3o ferrovi\u00e1ria dessa ponte com o Sul do Pais, sendo ent\u00e3o a Siderurgia servida por uma linha, lig\u00e1vel pr\u00f3ximo de Paio Pires ao caminho do ferro que, partindo do Pragal, passa por Coina e v\u00e1 inserir-se na linha do Sul, em Moita do Ribatejo. Nessa altura valorizada a posi\u00e7\u00e3o ferrovi\u00e1ria nas suas liga\u00e7\u00f5es Sul-Centro, a C. P. ter\u00e1 ainda na fonte do tr\u00e1fego pesado que \u00e9 a siderurgia, em Paio Pires, um bom motivo para se considerar largamente compensada da perda do um pequeno ramal (de tr\u00eas quil\u00f3metros apenas) que, al\u00e9m de deficit\u00e1rio, j\u00e1 n\u00e3o justificaria a explora\u00e7\u00e3o e manuten\u00e7\u00e3o de uma ponte de estilo j\u00e1 ultrapassado e com um tramo m\u00f3vel obsoleto.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/barreiroweb.com\/images\/resistencia\/ponte%20seixal5.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"314\" height=\"204\" align=\"left\" \/>Esta solu\u00e7\u00e3o, que se d\u00e1 como pratic\u00e1vel depois de cumprido o programa da liga\u00e7\u00e3o ferrovi\u00e1ria da ponte Salazar com o Sul do Pais, n\u00e3o \u00e9, evidentemente, para J\u00e1; mas tem de aceitar-se daqui a alguns anos.<\/p>\n<p>Segundo podemos averiguar em complemento destas Informa\u00e7\u00f5es, est\u00e1 prevista a liga\u00e7\u00e3o fluvial Barreiro-Seixal, logo quo seja encerrado e levantado ramal ferrovi\u00e1rio.<\/p>\n<p>Do resto, no mapa da regi\u00e3o em quo o Gabinete do ponte Salazar tra\u00e7ou o caminho do ferro a construir desde aponte ate \u00e0 Moita, J\u00e1 n\u00e3o se v\u00ea o ramal do Seixal, nem a sua velha ponte sobre a ribeira do Coina, mas sim o que globalmente est\u00e1 previsto, Incluindo a liga\u00e7\u00e3o com as f\u00e1bricas sider\u00fargicas de Paio Pires. Este e um ponto de vista oficial a que n\u00e3o podemos negar sentido econ\u00f3mico, com futura projec\u00e7\u00e3o no rendimento regional.<\/p>\n<p>A C.
