Um pintor de refer\u00eancia. Um autor de tape\u00e7arias, cer\u00e2micas, gravuras e esculturas de primeira linha.<br \/>\nMas tamb\u00e9m poeta, actor, dan\u00e7arino, m\u00fasico, dinamizador cultural, organizador de festivais, filantropo, politicamente empenhado, tendo sido preso pela PIDE durante 18 meses, depois da independ\u00eancia, foi deputado pela FRELIMO e era, hoje, Conselheiro de Estado da Rep\u00fablica Popular de Mo\u00e7ambique.<br \/>\nVivemos, h\u00e1 pouco tempo, a presen\u00e7a de Malangatana.<br \/>\nPartilh\u00e1mo-la no car\u00e1cter aberto, dispon\u00edvel, simples, pr\u00f3ximo que dava \u00e0 forma como se relacionava com cada um que o conhecesse, lhe falasse, o ouvisse, o visse ou o visitasse.<br \/>\nDessa derradeira presen\u00e7a nasceu uma marca indel\u00e9vel.<br \/>\nNo centro do Barreiro est\u00e1 Malangatana (na sua \u00faltima e, eventualmente, maior obra p\u00fablica): nas suas imagens, na sua vida, no seu, e no nosso, quotidiano.<br \/>\nPartilh\u00e1mo-la no car\u00e1cter aberto, dispon\u00edvel, simples, pr\u00f3ximo que dava \u00e0 forma como se relacionava com cada um que o conhecesse, lhe falasse, o ouvisse, o visse ou o visitasse.<br \/>\nDessa derradeira presen\u00e7a nasceu uma marca indel\u00e9vel.<br \/>\nNo centro do Barreiro est\u00e1 Malangatana (na sua \u00faltima e, eventualmente, maior obra p\u00fablica): nas suas imagens, na sua vida, no seu, e no nosso, quotidiano.<br \/>\nEst\u00e3o, no seu pr\u00f3prio dizer, \u201cos acontecimentos do mundo, \u00e0s vezes tristes, outras alegres, e eu n\u00e3o fico indiferente.
