Por\u00e9m, s\u00e3o nulos a resolver crises. N\u00e3o t\u00eam a austeridade, nem a concep\u00e7\u00e3o, nem o instinto pol\u00edtico, nem a experi\u00eancia que faz o ESTADISTA. \u00c9 assim que h\u00e1 muito tempo em Portugal s\u00e3o regidos os destinos pol\u00edticos. Pol\u00edtica de acaso, pol\u00edtica de compadrio, pol\u00edtica de expediente. Pa\u00eds governado ao acaso, governado por vaidades e por interesses, por especula\u00e7\u00e3o e corrup\u00e7\u00e3o, por privil\u00e9gio e influ\u00eancia de camarilha, ser\u00e1 poss\u00edvel conservar a sua independ\u00eancia?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(E\u00e7a de Queiroz, 1867 in \u201cO distrito de \u00c9vora)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">E\u00e7a de Queiroz h\u00e1 144 anos, escreveu esta premoni\u00e7\u00e3o.
